Meaningless?

You were going to get a post about my misspent youth, but Bee wanted to know about my dreams, so:

A few nights last week I had dreams. This doesn't happen very often. Whatever the reason, I wish it hadn't happened, as I went through last week in a totally zombified state.

Some people claim that they can interpret dreams. Personally, I think that they're just your brain freewheeling and you shouldn't try to read to much into them. Nevertheless, here are a couple of ones that I wrote down so I wouldn't forget them.

On Tuesday I dreamt about my blog. I had a comment from someone else - it might have been one of the commenter's from Bee's blog. The odd thing was that when I replied I used a different name from the one on his comment. Does that make sense?

On Thursday I dreamt that I was on a train. It was busy and was full of Greeks. There was even Greek music being played over the speakers. Yet it was a British train. I finally found somewhere to stand, then realised that there was actually some kind of fold-up seat there, so sat down. Then the guards came checking the tickets. For some reason there were two of them, a man and a woman. I had a ticket, but couldn't find it.

I ended up emptying all my pockets onto the floor. There was a lot of room on the floor despite the fact that the train was crowded - another one of these weird dream distortions. The guards got bored and went away saying they were going to get a policeman. I still never found that ticket.

It's as if the dream was "To Be Continued", but they never are...

Hmmmm... the ticket represents The Beatles. The train represents a submarine. Where it's headed is yet to be determined but what we do know is that I am FIRST!

I had a streak of dreams that freaked me out so I went and talked to a person who claimed to be a dream analyzer. She scared the crap out of me so much so that I was afraid to sleep for weeks.
I learned not to put a lot of thought into them because all the scary things she said weren't true anyways.

Bee:

I'm not sure how comforting a thought it is that the meaning of dreams is to be found in old Beatles songs...

The BBQ sounds great, if I'm in the area I'll certainly come.

Jean Knee:

I'm sorry, but most of the few dreams I remember are dull. But there are always oddities with the geography...

Tracy:

That's dreadful. I think dreams can be scary because you sometimes see parts of your mind that you'd rather not. It doesn't help for someone like that to make things worse...

I don't think there are any female serial killers, are there?

Jean Knee said...

there are 1 or 2 women

I drove a pickup truck in the dream

You just need some tarpaulin. If you're stopped you say that your mate is drunk and sleeping it off in the back.

If I were you I'd worry more about your freezer going on the blink and all the chopped up bodies defrosting...

Dan:

We'll see - it depends if I get any better ideas before I finish it.
Congrats for being 11th.

Jean Knee said...

don't say that about the freezer!! you'll jinx it

knock on wood now Brian, now!

Bee:

Yes, it is indeed. Have you forgotten to change your calendar since January???

TV schedules are buggered because it's Easter Week. They're advertising the news for 18.45 my time, but at 19.00 the English News came on instead...

Bee said...

I'm still in March but I refuse to change it until May. What's the point now?

Brian o vretanos said...

Fair enough. It's certainly not been a hugely exciting month. You've not missed much.

I couldn't find anything about loosing a ticket for a train...but I did find this:
"To dream that you miss a train, denotes missed opportunities or nearly escaping your death."

So, seeing you made the train, but lost the ticket, and are about to get thrown off the train for no ticket...I say:
You had an opportunity to go to bee's bbq, but then something happened to prevent that, and thus you narrowly escaped death due to her cooking.

See? Sometimes it's good to know :-)

**All Opinions in this are simply for humor purposes and in now way are meant to condone, imply or infer that bee is a bad cook**

CHRIS!! Ha ha! I'm pretty decent at the cooking thing. I'll have to invite to try my mean (meaning good) skirt steak!

Brian o vretanos said...

Chris,

Thankyou for that.

If a trainload of Greeks turn up to Bee's barbeque we'll know why ;-)

what's the meaning of all this meaningless-ness?

I really just wanted to say hi

Hello, Jean Knee.

I don't know.

I was just reading about chopstick bad manners in Japan. Such as the unforgivable act of Uke Bashi (holding chopsticks while asking for more rice).

I really ought to be doing something more constructive, like writing tomorrow's blog post.

Jean Knee said...

I would never do that rude Uke Bashi.

onlu 2 days till your ubuntu

that sounds indecent

Brian o vretanos said...

If I ever go there I'll try and smuggle a spoon through customs.

Brian o vretanos said...

ubuntu means "Humanity to Others" in African. The aim is for people to start using this instead of Windows...

I'm going to try the new one on my laptop when it comes out.

still sounds indecent--just sayin
