... Can Feel Soft As Your Face...
You were going to get a post about my dreams, but by special request here is the lowdown on dish washing in the BOV household.
Here is where all the important action happens. The main areas are listed. most of the actual cleaning is done with spongy pan scourers, though there is also a brush to remove those stubborn stains.
You may just about be able to see leading brand of washing-up-liquid - only the best is good enough.
Most people these days have dishwashers. However my kitchen isn't large enough to fit one, and washing up after one isn't very onerous in any case. Though I tend to get through lots of glasses and coffee mugs, since I often use a fresh one each time.
If anyone wishes to try out the facilities let me know and I'll save all my dirty dishes for you.

SMARTASS!
Oh and FIRST!
Now I’m going to have to do my own “how Bee does the dishes” play by play. Hey! You just invented a meme… :op
Yes, and we also need to see a West Virginian style dishwasher - Tracy? (is it wooden?)
Jean Knee's dishwasher is about due to go on the blink...
how dare you say that Brian. nooo it can't.
we always have lots of dishes and it's only three, but i suppose I have to count the neighbor kids who are constatly here drinking up our apple juice.
do you wear rubber gloves? what color
How enlightening ;-)
Now, here's my question (something I've always wondered): Why do you use a bucket? Why not just put a stopper in the sink and do it that way?
Jean Knee:
No, I don't wear rubber gloves. I suppose I should, since then I'd be able to get the water hotter, but I've never liked wearing them.
Chris:
I suspect it's because you might use the sink for other things (such as washing clothes), or because the dishes are less likely to get damaged in a plastic bowl. Though my sink is plastic as well. It also involves using less water.
somewhere far, far away Father Al is smiling because you save water.
this is a proud moment
Jean Knee:
I hadn't thought of that! Maybe I'll try and manage without the bowl...
no Brian.
yes global warming is just a way for people to cash in on going green, but we really are running out of clean water because we pollute too much.
what? sleeping again??
My dishwasher is none of these:
Wooden
Pregnant
Barefoot
Barefoot and pregnant
Handed down
A dog
A trash can (meaning that we use styrofoam and then throw them away aka "Doing the dishes"
And I'm so glad you decided to do a picture play by play. Bee just wasn't getting the concept of the bowl.
Jean Knee:
I don't really understand the water thing fully. Many places are running out of water - Cyprus has a dreadful shortage at the moment, for example, but I'm not convinced that we are. After all, it keeps raining, and the river we get our water from isn't exactly running dry, so how can my saving water help anything apart from saving a bit of power at the water treatment plant?
Tracy:
That's a pity - With you talking about acres and tractor shops, I have this vision of you living in a rustic farmhouse. Actually, I remembered that we've seen your dishwasher, and it was disappointingly modern looking...
The concept of a bowl is a complex one - imagine trying to explain it to a Martian.
Men shouldn't have to do dishes, I feel sorry for you Brian.
We all know Tracy makes her son do the dishes, she's only posted that picture like 1000 times already.
The wife made me wash dishes one time the dishwaser broke to prove a point, I of cours did a horrible job and got a new one the same day.
Dan:
I always did the washing up when I was married. It's a job that I've never minded doing, and I never like anyone else to do because I never believe they'll clean as well as I do.
This isn't true of course - it's not unknown for me to find cutlery in the drawer with some dried food on it...
we have plenty of water, it's just polluted
men doing the dishes is a natural aphrodisiac for women
Jean Knee
I'm way to smart to fall for that one.
Dan, Jean Knee:
It's never worked for me...
maybe you two just haven't been dressed right. an apron and nothing else
you'll score, baby
Brian- If it makes you feel any better, the rest of the house is a rustic farm house, it just has a non-rustic dishwasher. Our house was built in 1860. No amount of new appliances would take the rustic out of that.
Dan- I'm going to post that picture of my son again JUST FOR YOU.
Jean Knee:
That must be it - the apron never occurred to me.
Tracy:
1860? They built them to last in those days...
Emilia looks sad
Dan:
Reading the news is a serious business...
