Movers and Shakers

You'll now doubt have heard the news. They've done it again this year. The folks at Time have published their list of the World's 100 Most Influential People. As usual I checked, but they had unaccountably left me out.

But I'm not bitter. At least I wasn't until I saw some of the people they had included. Dan will be a little disappointed that Mariah Carey is only the 8th most influential Artist/Performer. However, maybe you can explain just what great World Issues she is influencing, Dan?

I'm sure that many of the planet's billions haven't heard of most of these people. I certainly hadn't. There's a large bias towards Americans, understandable, of course, which probably explains why I'm not there.

They've also left out Boris Johnson. Boris has just been elected Mayor of London. I never agreed with them setting up an elected Mayor, since taxpayers like me are contributing to the cost of election, yet we don't live in London, or get a vote. But Boris' victory makes it worthwhile.

So I shouldn't feel too bad about being left out. It's not just me. And there's always next year...

She is not involved in world issues, that would be why she's in the "artist category"
You're just mad cause Emilia isn't on the list.

This is a list of the World's 100 Most Influential People. So what is she influencing? I'm not saying she shouldn't be there, I just want you to explain why she's more influential, than, say, Al Gore?

Brian- I think I can answer this question for Dan. Mariah is influential in many ways. She influences people to feel badly about themselves because they don't have a perfect body like hers, even though she's mostly plastic.
She influences people to buy her CD's when the lyrics are terrible and she influences people to get angry when she treats them like poo.
She's very influential. ;)

By the way, was I on that list?

I can only assume Father Al is second on the list, like that other thing he barely missed.

I probably wasn't on the list but, was Mr.Cocka-Doodle-Doo?

that Boris looks like a cross between Lenny from of mice and men and the monster on young Frankenstein.

"That's Frankenstein." whatever, Gene

Why don't you send an E-mail to Time Magazine? They came up with the list not me.
I would imagine being the top selling woman singer of all time and having more #1 hits then Elvis and only one away from the Beattls has something to do with it.

Tracy
I'm going to kick you in the nuts !!!!

They left you out as well! They really don't know what they're doing, do they?

Jean Knee:

Boris is a total star. He is well suited to political office, having studied Latin and Ancient Greek, and has a tendency to say what he thinks - something that's frowned upon in politics.

Apparently loads of women have the hots for him...

Dan and Tracy:

You've convinced me that MC deserves a place.

Dan:

Complaining to the Time people would be no fun - they wouldn't get wound up about it ;-)

I missed all the fun yesterday!

Boris looks like Donald Trump's eviler twin.

I always have to pay to keep my name out of magazines. That's how influential I am!

ELEVENTH!!!

I'm sure Boris isn't evil...

You have to pay: That's a good one, I'll remember that next time I'm not on a list.

certainly it goes without saying he's hawt....

He was born in New York, so in theory could be a future US President - at least that's what they were saying on RIK News this evening.

I expect he'd be a republican.
