I almost forgot that it was "Wordy Wednesday", and it was Jean Knee's fault, since she posted a Wednesday post with, erm, words. Oh, and a picture of horse feed.
In the News
There was a slightly entertaining, slightly scary, item on the news this evening. Someone parked his car, as usual, next to a block of flats which is next to his house. Unfortunately a second floor balcony collapsed shortly afterwards. This fell on to the first floor balcony beneath, which in turn fell on to his car.
"It was like a film", said one bemused onlooker. Everyone was smiling, of course, because luckily no-one got hurt. They said that the steel that was holding the balconies up had failed because they were old buildings, built about 30 or 40 years ago. It makes you wonder whether the rest of the structure is safe...
Mediterranean Lifestyle
It's been as warm here as in Cyprus, the last few days. We've had sun and no rain, and unlike Cyprus we're not getting any Saharan sand in the atmosphere. Apparently it's back to our usual wet weather at the weekend - I suppose that's summer over then...
Signature of the Week
I loved the following signature which I saw on an ubuntu forum:
They say that if you play a Windows Install CD backwards, you hear satanic messages. That's All, Folks!
That's nothing; play it forwards and it installs Windows.
That's it from Balmy Britain. Oh, all right then, one more healthy eating horse food idea especially for Jean Knee:
Mmmmmm!

that first picture looks just like Kashi Go Lean, crunch!
sorry about your brief summer and all, there's always next year
what's in the last picture? bran, whole wheat flour, sand?
mmm
It's a special dietary supplement - I suppose you could sprinkle it on the Go Lean. It has minerals and vitamins, such as sodium and copper.
This happened last year - it was hot early on, then we had a miserable summer with floods and stuff...
In order to easily swallow their nutritious and tasty food, horses produce 10 gallons of saliva a day...
Why do people sneak posts when I'm not looking and/or working (maybe)??
30 OR 40??? Buildings in Mexico are ancient and they're not collapsing!
We woke up one day and our cars were covered in sand. It was really bad and they it was due to sandstorms in... somewhere.
I can't remember now.
Bee:
I feel your pain... Some people have a nasty habit of posting when other people are asleep. Shocking, isn't it?
There are plenty of ancient buildings in Cyprus too, but these were post-war things that were thrown up probably with little thought given to their longevity. It looked from the pictures like there were steel rods going through concrete. They didn't understand the long-term stresses on steel and concrete in the 50's and 60's because they hadn't been using it for long enough. Remember the concrete cancer thing?
that's a lot of spit
do you actually eat that nutritional uh, stuff?
I thought sodium was bad. is that wheat germ? eww
Jean Knee:
1. I'm not a horse
2. I don't do nutrition.
They reckon that vitamin tablets actually shorten your life.
I'll live a long time then
so you're saying that is not your hand scooping out nutrition in your very own kitchen? is that what you're saying?
He's sayin' he wouldn't know nutrition if it knocked him upside the head.
Kinda like me.
Why do you always talk about Cyprus?
Jean Knee:
What Bee said.
Those photos are from the Wiki, not my kitchen. I don't get involved much with anything that isn't in a packet with cooking times on the back.
Dan:
Because I watch the Cyprus TV instead of the British TV so that I can get better at my Greek, so I know what's going on there, but not here (or anywhere else)...
See, I can't eat cereal like that. If I can't identify every thing in my cereal I can't eat it.
Take for example lucky charms, I can identify the red hearts, purple horshoes, green clovers, yellow moons, yada yada yada so I'm good.
Our house was built in 1860 and I always wonder how safely it was built but luckily no bits have fallen off of it yet so we're good. For now.
okay good, cuz I wanted to tell you your watch sucks. but it isn't even yours so never mind.
Tracy:
I don't eat breakfast - I know, I know. If I did though, it'd be meusli. I love the stuff.
I don't know enough about different ingredients to know what I'm eating half the time.
Jean Knee:
I don't usually wear a watch. Why did you think I had horse food?
I thought that was a human nutritional supplement
Jean Knee:
It might be, for all I know. Apparently you won't need to get your teeth ground off as frequently...
We had loads of rain this morning, so the summer is definitely over.
I barely have teeth after kashi go lean. I'm on my second box.
what comes after summer there? a fall like season or just rain?
Jean Knee:
Rain, usually.
And lots of complaining...
